Given complete creative freedom, from naming the product to art direction and business strategy, I conducted extensive research into compression garments—their origins, historical developments, and aesthetic language. This research informed the core concept I developed for the brand's direction.
I named the brand Ambroise Paré, after the historical figure who first created compression garments as part of medical tools. Drawing on this rich history, the art direction took inspiration from apothecary-inspired clean aesthetics, blending subtle historical references (please see slides below).
The core concept for the product itself was regality, which aligned with the business strategy of creating compression socks targeted at older, professional individuals in the upper market. The resulting aesthetics followed a luxury-driven art direction that embodies sophistication and timelessness.
